The Hankook Machine Tools Co., Ltd., founded in 1969, has specialised in the development and manufacture of machine tools in the 38 years following its founding, and at the same time promoted the establishment of the Korean machine tools industry.
Since we started our business activities, we have concentrated on large, high performance lathes. For this reason our company today occupies a top position at the forefront of this sector in Korea.
As a medium-sized company, we produce many machines in Korea each year according to the newest production standards.
We at Hankook Machine Tools Co., Ltd. concentrate on creating strategies having the development of our own technologies and continuous development of products according to the requirements of the global market as their main objective. This is because we wish to satisfy our customers and offer them with added value.

History

1967 Beginning of technical cooperation as joint venture with Dainichi Kinzoku Kogyo Co. Ltd.
1969 Founding of the Hankook Machine Tools Co., Ltd. in Dongrae, Pusan, Korea and start of lathe production
1979 Transfer of administration and production to the Changwon factory (Changwon, Kyungnam, Korea)
1982 Self-development of very large, conventional lathes
1985 Self-development of CNC lathes
1989 Awarded the bronze industrial medal by the President on the occasion of the start-up of the research and development department
1990 Production of CNC lathe type series with a centre height from 630 to 1,700 mm and expansion of the factory by 2,710 m2 just for the assembly of the CNC lathes
1993 Development of Korea's largest conventional lathe with a centre height of 3,060 mm for the grinding of turbine generators
1995 Development of the first Korean semi-CNC lathe
1997 Obtainment of the EM designation and CE certification with CNC vertical and semi-CNC lathes. Distinguished by the Korean Ministry of Economics. Top position in the top 100 list of Korean industrial companies
1998 Certification according to ISO 9001
2000 Distinguished by the Korean Ministry of Research and
the Chamber of Commerce in Kyungnam (Korea)
2001 First appearance of the Hankook Machine Tools GmbH, Hamburg at the EMO 2001 in Hanover; Hankook introduces its vertical lathes into the European market
2002 Hankook Machine Tools GmbH, Hamburg exhibits for the first time at the BIMU in Milan
2003 Hankook Machine Tools GmbH, Hamburg exhibits together with Hankook Machine Tools Co., Ltd at the EMO 2003 in Milan
2004 Open house event in the new offices at Rahlau 52, Hamburg; first appearance of the Hankook Machine Tools GmbH, Hamburg at the METAV, Dusseldorf
2005 2005 Hankook Machine Tools GmbH, Hamburg presents itself at the EMO 2005 in Hanover
